Equifax credit monitoring comes in three individual plans plus a Family Plan. Equifax Core Credit is free and shows a daily Equifax VantageScore 3.0 and report. Equifax Complete costs $9.95 a month and watches only your Equifax file. Equifax Complete Premier costs $19.95 a month, $239.40 a year, and adds alerts on all three bureaus, but its full three-bureau report and scores arrive only once a year.
We read each plan page on equifax.com on 29 September 2026, so the figures below come from Equifax rather than from other reviews. Several of those reviews quote a $199.95 annual plan or $16.66 a month billed yearly, and Equifax's product pages list neither. CreditPal is a credit coaching tool, not a monitoring service, and we earn nothing whichever plan you choose.
Equifax Complete Premier cost and the other Equifax plans
Equifax sells four consumer plans. Only three of them cost money:
| Plan | Price | Per year | Credit reports and scores | Monitoring | ID theft insurance |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Equifax Core Credit | Free, no card | $0 | Daily Equifax report and VantageScore 3.0 | None listed | None |
| Equifax Complete | $9.95 a month | $119.40 | Daily Equifax VantageScore, Equifax report | Equifax only | Up to $500,000 |
| Equifax Complete Premier | $19.95 a month | $239.40 | Daily Equifax VantageScore, three-bureau report and scores once a year | Equifax, Experian and TransUnion | Up to $2 million |
| Equifax Complete Family Plan | $29.95 a month | $359.40 | Premier for two adults | Three bureaus, plus Equifax monitoring and a lock for up to 4 children | Up to $2 million |
The yearly figures are our own math from the monthly prices. Every paid plan carries the same billing line: "We will immediately charge your card the price stated and will charge the card the price stated for each month you continue your subscription. You may cancel at any time; however, we do not provide partial month refunds." There is no free trial on any of the three paid plan pages.
What does Equifax Complete Premier include?
Premier is the plan most people mean when they search for Equifax credit monitoring, and it is the one most reviews rate. Equifax lists these features on its product page:
- Scores: a daily Equifax VantageScore 3.0 with alerts on changes, plus "annual 3-bureau VantageScores."
- Reports: your Equifax report any time, and an "annual Equifax 3-bureau credit report."
- Monitoring: alerts on key changes to your Equifax, Experian and TransUnion reports, plus SSN monitoring for new account openings, benefit claims and other high-risk transactions.
- Identity protection: Dark WebScan for your SSN, card, bank, passport and medical ID numbers; automatic fraud alerts renewed each year; the Equifax credit report lock; lost wallet assistance.
- Personal Data Removal: "We scan 100+ people search sites for your personal information, request its removal, and keep monitoring in case it reappears."
- Insurance: up to $2 million in identity theft insurance, underwritten by American Bankers Insurance Company of Florida, including dollar-for-dollar replacement of up to $1 million in stolen bank funds that your bank does not recover.
The $2 million limit is the largest of the three bureau plans. TransUnion Credit Premium and Experian IdentityWorks Premium both cap theirs at $1 million, and both cost more.
Three-bureau alerts are ongoing, the three-bureau report is once a year
This is the detail that changes the value of Premier. The monitoring watches all three bureaus, but the three-bureau report and scores are annual. Equifax's own words are "Your annual 3-bureau VantageScores" and "Your annual Equifax 3-bureau credit report." Only the Equifax score and report refresh daily.
Compare that with the other two bureaus. Experian IdentityWorks Premium refreshes its full three-bureau report every quarter, and so does TransUnion Credit Premium. If you are preparing for a mortgage or auto loan and want to read what Experian and TransUnion show before a lender does, Premier gives you that view once in twelve months. You can already get a free copy of each report every week at annualcreditreport.com, which is the better tool for that job.
Monitoring on the other two bureaus is not instant either. The fine print says "Credit monitoring from Experian and TransUnion will take several days to begin."
Which credit score does Equifax show you?
Every Equifax plan, including the free one, shows a VantageScore 3.0. Equifax says so directly: "The credit scores provided are based on the VantageScore 3.0 model," and adds that "third parties use many different types of credit scores and are likely to use a different type of credit score to assess your creditworthiness."
That is honest, and it matters for a buyer. Most mortgage and auto lenders read a FICO version, so the number you pay $19.95 a month to watch may not be the number that decides your rate. If you want to see a FICO Score from a bureau plan, Experian's Premium tier shows one. Our FICO Score 8 breakdown explains why the two models can give different numbers on the same file.
Equifax vs TransUnion vs Experian credit monitoring
| Equifax Complete Premier | TransUnion Credit Premium | Experian IdentityWorks Premium | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Monthly price | $19.95 | $29.95 plus tax | $24.99 plus tax, after a 7-day trial |
| Per year | $239.40 | $359.40 | $299.88 |
| Three-bureau report and scores | Once a year | Quarterly | Quarterly |
| Score model | VantageScore 3.0 | VantageScore 3.0 | FICO Score |
| ID theft insurance | Up to $2M | Up to $1M | Up to $1M |
| People-search removal | Yes, 100+ sites | No | Covered sites only |
| Free tier | Core Credit | Credit Essentials | Basic |
Equifax is the cheapest of the three and carries the most insurance. It is also the one that shows you the other two bureaus least often. Our TransUnion credit monitoring review and Experian CreditWorks review cover the other two plans from their own pages.
Is Equifax Complete Premier worth it?
Premier is worth it if identity theft is the thing you are buying protection against. For $19.95 a month you get alerts on three bureaus, a $2 million policy, restoration specialists and people-search removal, which is a lot of coverage for the price in this category. It suits someone whose data turned up in a breach, or who has already had an account opened in their name.
It is a weaker buy for two other goals. If you only want fraud blocked, a credit freeze at each bureau stops new accounts at no cost, and our guide on how to freeze your credit walks through all three. And if people-search listings are the real worry, a dedicated data removal service focused on brokers and people-search sites does that one job on its own, without a credit subscription attached.
If your goal is a higher score before an application, monitoring is the wrong product. An alert tells you something changed after it changed. It does not tell you which of your accounts costs the most points, or whether paying one card down beats paying another.
A better use of $19.95 if your goal is a higher score
CreditPal is built for that question. It connects read-only, explains in plain English which factors on your file are costing you the most points, lets you simulate a change before you make it, and puts the fixes in the order that pays. It costs from $7 a month, $84 a year against $239.40 for Premier. It does not monitor for fraud, it carries no insurance, it is not a credit repair organization, and it does not promise a score. If you want both, the free Equifax Core Credit plan plus a credit freeze covers the fraud side at no cost.
For a wider view of paid monitoring, our credit monitoring services comparison prices Aura, LifeLock, IdentityIQ and the bureau plans side by side.
Equifax credit monitoring FAQ
How much is Equifax Complete Premier per month?
Equifax Complete Premier costs $19.95 a month on Equifax's product page, which is $239.40 a year. Equifax Complete costs $9.95 a month and the Family Plan $29.95. We found no annual plan and no free trial on the plan pages, and Equifax does not refund partial months.
Does Equifax Complete Premier give you all 3 credit reports?
Yes, but once a year. Premier monitors Equifax, Experian and TransUnion and sends alerts on changes, but Equifax describes the three-bureau report and VantageScores as annual. Only the Equifax report and score refresh daily. TransUnion and Experian premium plans refresh theirs quarterly.
Is Equifax credit monitoring free?
The basic tier is. Equifax Core Credit gives you a daily Equifax VantageScore 3.0 and Equifax report with no credit card. Alerts, identity protection and insurance start with Equifax Complete at $9.95 a month, and three-bureau monitoring needs Complete Premier at $19.95.
What credit score does Equifax show?
Every Equifax consumer plan shows a VantageScore 3.0. Equifax states that third parties are likely to use a different type of score. Most mortgage and auto lenders read a FICO version, so your Equifax number may differ from the one a lender pulls.
How do I cancel Equifax Complete Premier?
Equifax says you may cancel at any time, but it does not provide partial month refunds. Cancel through your myEquifax account shortly before the next billing date so you do not pay for a month you will not use, then check that the next charge does not appear.
Will Equifax credit monitoring raise my credit score?
No. Monitoring watches your files and alerts you to changes, and Equifax does not claim otherwise. A score rises when the underlying file changes: lower balances, on-time payments, corrected errors. A tool that explains which factors cost you the most points is what helps with that.
